Hero Echoes
An Echo is an AI reflection of a real hero with their look, stats and favorite skills. Echo Arena, Echo of the Week, Mentor, Arena Rival, Town Defense, Echo Siege and Guild Battle.
Contents
The world of Vela remembers its strongest. Every hero from level 40 leaves an Echo — a snapshot of their look, final stats and the skills they actually use. From that snapshot the server raises an AI reflection: it looks like your hero, fights with your skills and is labeled "Echo". Everyone knows an Echo is AI. It's open content, not fake online.
What a snapshot is
While you're in the game, the server saves a snapshot of your hero about every half hour:
- look: race, gender, class, hairstyle, face, equipped weapon and armor with enchant;
- final stats: attack and defense, HP and MP, speeds, crit, accuracy and evasion;
- skills: up to 10 active skills you use most often, including other classes' skills from Multiprofa and mutations. Of other classes' skills from the same stacking group, only the one that actually works for you goes into the snapshot;
- armor role (robe, light or heavy) — for equalization on the Arena, and the last town square you stood in — for Town Defense.
The Echo is on for every hero from level 40. If you don't want your reflection to appear in the world, turn it off: .menu›Trials›Hero Echo or .echo off (this deletes the snapshot). Killing an Echo gives no karma and no PvP points.
Echo Voice. If you turn on Voice (in the same window), once a week the AI writes four lines in your hero's character. Your Echo shouts a battle cry at the start of a fight, taunts during it and says its last words when it falls.
Echo modes
| Mode | When | Who vs. whom | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Duel your own Echo | any time | you solo vs. your Echo (100% power), 5 minutes | first win of the day: 5 stone fragments |
| Trial of Champions | any time | a party of up to 5 vs. three Echoes of the strongest heroes (80% power), 5 minutes | first win of the day: a Raid Mark and 2 greater stones, a Chronicle entry |
| Echo of the Week | Saturday 20:00 | the whole server vs. the Echo of the strongest hero (HP ×30) | everyone who dealt damage: 2 Raid Marks, 3 greater stones, a doll summon coupon |
| TvT vs. Echo | the TvT PvP event, if 2–3 people signed up | all the living on the blue team, Echoes on the red | winners get 10 Giran Seals each |
| Echo Siege | Sunday 21:00 | all the living storm a copy of Gludio Castle held by an Echo garrison | see Echo Siege |
| Guild Battle | Friday 18:00 — Sunday 20:00 | a clan storms another clan's Echo defense, 1 on 1 | see Guild Battle |
| Arena Rival | any time | you vs. the Echo of a top Arena fighter, power equalized | first win of the day: 3 Marks of Battle, see Echo Rival at the Arena |
Echo Arena
Entry is at the Rift Keeper in Giran. In a duel you face your own Echo: solo, 5 seconds after entering, for 5 minutes. Beating yourself is a good way to find out what's dead weight in your build. Trial of Champions opens when the server has Echoes of other heroes. Your own Echo and your party members' Echoes don't get in.
Echo of the Week
Every Saturday at 20:00, the Echo of the server's strongest hero appears in one of the hunting zones (picked the same way as the Shadow zone — by the levels of heroes online). It has 100% of the original's stats and HP ×30, and you have 60 minutes to win. If nobody beats it, it leaves with an announcement. A victory goes into the Chronicle and adds 50 points to the Path of War.
Echoes on your side
An Echo isn't always an enemy. In three modes it fights next to living players: it only hits monsters, players can't damage it, and it never takes loot.
| Mode | What the Echo does | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Mentor | for 30 minutes it guides a newcomer up to level 39: buffs, heals, helps with monsters | 2 Rift Fragments for each new level of your apprentice |
| Town Defense | defends the gates of "its" town from the World Warden's horde | if the Echo dealt 5%+ of the damage — a letter with Rift Fragments and stones |
| Echo Siege | holds the castle against the living (here it's an enemy, but its success is yours) | a share of the reward by mail if the garrison held |
Echoes in other systems
| Where | How the Echo appears |
|---|---|
| Tower of Trials | every 10th floor — the Echo of a strong hero, on floors 30/60/90 — your own. In Hell, the Echo of one of the three strongest stands on every 5th floor |
| Rifts | on Friday the Rift guardian is the Echo of a hero of similar level |
| Legend Hunt | in every fifth rumor the legend is the Echo of a real hero with HP ×5 |
| Letter of the Echo | once a week your Echo challenges you to a duel with a condition |
| Beacon of Vela | the Guardian of the lit Beacon is the Echo of the strongest hero with HP ×20 |
| World Warden | the "Head Hunt" event: the Echo of a well-known hero roams a zone |
Why it's interesting
The stronger you are, the more often others meet your Echo: on Tower floors, as the Echo of the Week, in the Siege garrison. If your Echo held the castle in the Siege, you get a share of the reward by mail. On a small server, Echoes always give you an opponent, even when only three people are online.
Tips
- The Echo of the Week fights with the strongest hero's skills. Ask that player what they like to cast: it makes it clearer what to defend against.
- In Trial of Champions you face three Echoes at once. Bring control and healing, not just damage.
FAQ
Is an Echo a bot that plays for me? No. Echoes appear only in Echo modes, trials and events. They are always labeled "Echo", don't farm, don't trade and don't count toward online.
Can I disable my Echo? Yes, .echo off or the button in the "Hero Echo" window. The snapshot is deleted immediately.
