Here's your first hour, minute by minute. You don't need to know anything in advance: everything Vela adds to Essence opens with buttons from a single window, the Vela menu. If you've played Essence before, just read the highlighted parts; the rest will be familiar.

0adena at the start
~85,000adena for a full T1 set
3 daysof premium for a new account
~15 minto level 20

0–5 minutes: your hero and first login

  1. Class. Your own class skills are free; skills from other classes cost SP and adena, so your starting class is the core of your build. Not sure? Go archer or mage: they're the easiest to farm solo. Details: Classes and Professions.
  2. First login. A "Welcome to Vela!" window opens with the five key things about Vela. Your account immediately gets 3 days of premium: experience, SP and loot amount ×1.5.
  3. Newbie chain. The first hero on an account plays through the Essence tutorial: it leads you across the zones and hands out gear. The second and later heroes can skip it: Newbie Chain and Skip.

5–15 minutes: buffs and your first hunt

  1. Buffs. .menu›Buff helper›Fighter set or Mage set: a free set for an hour. Works until your first rebirth. Details: Newbie Buffs.
  2. Auto hunting. Use the native Essence auto-hunt button on your bar, plus Vela's rules in .menu›Comfort›Auto hunting: radius, auto loot, skill order. Up to 6 attack skills on auto.
  3. Hunt. Kill monsters of your level in the starting zone. You start with no adena; your first money comes from monsters.

15–30 minutes: T1 gear

Once you have 20–30 thousand adena:

  1. .menu›Shop and premium (or Alt+B›Shop).
  2. Aden weapons: 12 types at 20,000 adena each. Pick the one for your class.
  3. Moon set: armor from 10,000 to 30,000 per piece; set bonus for 4 pieces.
  4. Enchant scrolls: Aden weapons have their own scroll (200,000), D-grade armor scrolls cost 24,000. From +0 to +4 the enchant always succeeds; up to +10 a failure only costs the scroll. Items never break.

30–45 minutes: comfort features

Five minutes of setup saves hours: Comfort in 5 Minutes
